The About Xiaomi 12 Pro you'd think it was Pro because it's better than its predecessors at everything. It may be the best in-house, but unfortunately it's way behind the competition, and not just the new line-up. Apple's iPhone 13 Pro Max is downright underwhelming.
I found this battery test on YouTube the other day, Mrwhosetheboss Indian influencer compared the phones to see what SOT time each one produces. The following phones are included in the test:
- Samsung S22 Ultra - 5.000 mAh
- Samsung S21 Ultra - 5.000 mAh
- Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max - 4,352 mAh
- Google Pixel 6 Pro - 5.003 mAh
- Xiaomi 12 Pro - 4.600 mAh
During the test, you're doing all sorts of good stuff, filming, gaming, browsing, AOD, YouTube, camera, etc. Everything an average user can do all day is included.
As I started to watch the video, I noted with appreciation that Xiaomi hardly wants to move away from 100%, along with Google's phone. The Samsungs and the iPhone have started to sink like the Titanic. Then halfway through the video the battery ratings started to level out, but I still had hope that it would somehow stay that way. But no. The Xiaomi 12 Pro's battery started dropping like Mo. GDP, and that's when I realised that this was going to be a problem.
And that's it. Xiaomi is dead, with a SOT time of 7 hours 34 minutes. Google's phone died shortly before, with a SOT time of 7 hours 6 minutes. The Sansungs held on, as they had the biggest battery. But the biggest surprise, with the smallest battery, was the iPhone 13 Pro Max. With a SOT time of 10 hours 27 minutes, it badly beat Xiaomi's top phone.
Capacity isn't everything in a phone, it's the software that matters most, how power efficient it is and how optimised it is for the device. MIUI 13 is in its infancy right now, if I may say so as a Xiaomi fan, but the fact that iOS is so well written is undeniable!!!
