The Redmi K50 series launch in China started at noon on Wednesday, so we thought we had "bought a ticket". Well, we didn't. They just showed us a phone, in two guises, with a hefty price tag, and that was it. The 60-70 minute Redmi K50 Gaming Edition demo was a full Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 commercial.

The only phone I had was the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, neither regular, Pro, S,T, or whatever. But this phone beats it, in terms of knowledge and price! Let's start with the full specs, followed by some pictures of the special features and pricing.

Redmi K50 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team Edition

The launch of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition turned into a Mercedes commercial, with a video like the one above playing four times during the hour-long presentation, all the while showing off the new design. A lot of the phone's specs were shown in a hurried manner, as there wasn't much new to say, but there were some fantastic new features.

JBL four-speaker sound system

The Redmi K50 GE doesn't just have plain stereo sound, it has a separate speaker for bass and mid/high. So you can experience a sound experience like never before while listening to games, movies or even concerts. Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification is standard for a sound system like this.

New cooling technology, the coolest SD 8 Gen 1

First of all, the processor, battery and charging IC are bought separately, so you don't have to dissipate all the heat at once. In addition, the cooling surface area has been increased sufficiently, not to mention the new copper mesh coolant, which has a heat dissipation surface area that is now much larger than in any SD phone ever before. In addition to copper, a second-generation aero-graphene medium has been developed, which plays a major role in heat distribution and transfer. This is how they were able to achieve a 40% increase in heat dissipation capability of the VIC cooler, with a 3.5 times increase in this capability over the total surface area.

DipslayMate A+ AMOLED display

Samsung's new AMOLED display has outdone itself once again. The display tested by DisplayMate received an A+ rating, which only the best display can get. While these numbers are no longer new, there are some pluses to be had with 120 Hz refresh rate, 480 Hz touch sampling, ΔE≈0.30, JNCD≈0.18. For example, 1920 Hz PWM dimming, which reduces eye damage in the dark by controlling the brightness of the display by controlling the flicker interval. Or the 10x increase in touch sensitivity when gaming, for example when zooming with a Pista with binoculars.

CyberEngine X-axis engine

The K50 GE version could be the strongest shake-up in Android history! The world's first ultra-wideband CyberEngine X-axis engine. Ultra-wide frequency | Multiple vibration enjoyment, 50Hz-500Hz, ultra-low noise, ultra-high vibration | Super 5-step transient vibration. Not just simply vibrate your phone while playing, but vibrate in the intensity and length that suits the game. For example, if you're just bumping into another car, it's a small vibration, but if you bump into a wall, it's a strong, long-lasting feedback. It can be a fantastic experience.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition prices in China

And this was the most surprising thing during the whole presentation, many people thought during the broadcast that the price would be 4-5.000 Jüan, which is not bad for what it can do. And the prices are like this, in terms of RAM/ROM and design:

  • 8/128 GB - 3.299 Yuan ~ 162.140 Ft
  • 12/128 GB - 3.599 Yuan ~ 176.880 Ft
  • 12/256 GB - 3.899 Yuan ~ 191.625 Ft
  • AMG F1 12/256 GB - 4.199 Yuan ~ 206.370 Ft

That's why I wrote before that they are asking a brutally good price for a perfectly usable Gamuing phone. And for AMG-Mercedes F1 fans, the AMG F1 edition is a curiosity. But! These are Chinese prices, that's all you have to pay for it outside. If you want one of these at home, you'll have to dig deeper into your pockets, because you'll have to pay a lot more than that. 900$ (280.000 Ft) is the price to pay!
