HyperOS bootloader opening changes!

Opening the bootloader is always a good topic of discussion, whether it is useful or not, worth it or not. Under MIUI, it was easy to open, ask for permission from the Xiaomi site, a few settings and just wait for the time in the opening app. With the HyperOS update, a few things are changing that you should definitely be aware of!

In the Xiaomi community the HyperOS global appearance announcement, a new post appeared, which provides new information on the topic of bootloader opening. Such as. restrictions on updating.

“To ensure a safe and stable experience for our users, the bootloader unlocking permission will only be available to certain users after upgrading to Xiaomi HyperOS. However, unlocking the bootloader may compromise the security of the devices running Xiaomi HyperOS and lead to data leakage. As you may have already read, opening the Chinese HyperOS bootloader is as much a condition of membership as it is a condition of participation in the community. There will also be some restrictions on who can get permission to open the bootloader under HyperOS. Specifically, the following are tied:

So unlocking permission will only be available in the Xiaomi Community app, so any user who wants to unlock their phone will have to install it, register in the community. HyperOS update constraint

Xiaomi has introduced one more condition to get the HyperOS update. This is the closed bootloader state.

“Previous operating systems, such as MIUI 14, still retain the ability to unlock. Users will no longer receive Xiaomi HyperOS updates if they leave their devices unlocked. To receive the Xiaomi HyperOS updates, please get in touch with after-sales service.”

So if you have your bootloader open now and could get the HyperOS update, you won't. NO HYPER UPDATE FOR OPEN BOOTLOADER! So you'll have to lock it back down to get it officially via OTA update. Checkmate.
