Several rumours and a report from IDC about Xiaomi's first quarter sales have been published recently. Big mobile companies are usually proud to announce significant growth compared to the previous period, but these days when there is a downturn, they tend to keep the numbers quiet.

There are also reports of a decline at Apple and Samsung, which the manufacturer is forced to either deny or explain. Huawei, on the other hand, is proud to publish on all platforms how much it has sold in the first few months.
Xiaomi today issued an official press release refuting IDC's figures, in which the market researcher reported a decline. According to the official statement, sales in the first quarter of 2019 exceeded 27.5 million units. The company's board of directors considered the restatement an important step for the investor.

In the IDC report, global sales were still 25 million units, Xiaomi Group clarified the information (27.5 million), but did not give a more precise figure.

Informing investors (shareholders, other security holders) is also important for the manufacturer, which is already listed on the stock exchange, as a 10% drop would significantly reduce the value of the company.

Xiaomi closed the fourth quarter of 2018 with 28.6 million units sold. At that time, its market share increased by 2.41TTP3T and its total share increased by 7.61TTP3T. Its market share in India is 28.9%. Last year, it shipped more than 142.3 million smartphones in the country.
