The widespread use of, FluBot The malware, known as the "malware", has reappeared in Hungary, this time trying to lure its victims into sending fake security updates instead of sending packet messages.

The malware, called FluBot, first appeared in Spain in 2020, and in March 2021 it was released in Japan and several European countries, including Hungary. The scammers used a parcel text message to remind the recipient of the arrival of a parcel and asked them to download the app of the shipping company to track the shipment. A webpage with the parcel delivery service's branding was then loaded, allowing the download of the dangerous malware-containing application.

A few days ago the National Cyber Defence Institute issued an alert issued in the event of repeated pest outbreaks. Researchers from CERT New Zealand spotted the fake security alerts informing that the Android system is infected with a malicious virus called FluBot and then tries to trick the user into installing an application from an unknown source so that the security update can be successfully installed.

FluBot, distributed by cybercriminals, is mainly used to obtain financial services and banking data. According to experts from the Swiss security firm PRODAFT, by March 2021, around 60,000 devices had been infected by the android malware and no less than 11 million phone numbers had been stolen.
