Today saw the release of the latest version of the Redmond company's operating system, Windows 11. As we've already seen with previous versions, the new system has very high system requirements.

Processor1 GHz or faster, at least 2 cores, compatible 64-bit processor or single-flap system (SoC).
RAM4 GB.
Storage areaStorage device with a capacity of at least 64 GB.
System firmwareUEFI, secure boot.
TPMTrusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0.
Graphics cardDirectX 12-compatible or later with WDDM 2.0 drivers.
DisplayHigh-resolution (720p) display with a minimum diagonal of 9", 8 bits per colour channel.
Internet connection and Microsoft accountWho doesn't use the internet on their computer? Obviously you should...
Some features require a Microsoft account.

At first glance, it doesn't seem so bad, but there's a cute phrase: "compatible 64-bit processor". Running this on some 7th generation processors, Intel only runs on 8th generation and above, and AMD only runs on compatible Epyc and Ryzer CPUs, except in a few cases. This essentially means that if your machine has a processor older than 3 years old, you can officially forget about Windows 11. Before I get to the compatible Xiaomi and Redmi laptops, let's see how they stack up in the top list of Windows system distribution in our country and worldwide.

Globally:

  • Windows 10: 79,79%
  • Windows 7: 14.8%
  • Windows 8.1: 3,37%

In Hungary:

  • Windows 10: 77,08%
  • Windows 7: 17,34%
  • Windows 8.1: 3,32%

It's clear that Windows 10 is the clear leader, Microsoft has achieved its goal of 6 years ago, the majority of people have upgraded to the new system. It doesn't seem to be the goal this year, in my narrow family there are specifically no machines that are compatible. Well, but let's look at the compatible Xiaomi and Redmi laptops:

Mi Notebook series

  • Mi Notebook Pro 14
  • Mi Notebook Pro 15 OLED
  • Mi Notebook Pro X
  • Mi Notebook Pro 15.6"
  • Mi Notebook 15.6"
  • Mi Notebook Air (Intel 8th Gen models)
  • Mi Gaming Notebook (Intel 8th Gen models)

RedmiBook series

  • RedmiBook Pro 14
  • RedmiBook Pro 15
  • RedmiBook Air 13
  • RedmiBook 13
  • RedmiBook 14
  • RedmiBook 14 Ⅱ
  • RedmiBook 16
  • Redmi G Gaming Notebook

This list applies to laptops sold in China for the time being, but the notebooks that get the new system in China will certainly get it in Europe.
