Xiaomi is always trying to catch up with the market, or be the market leader in something. The individual attempts are very rarely shared with us, but sometimes we see something that has never been released. So many phones remain prototypes.

Such was the case with the Xiaomi foldable phone prototype presented by Lin Bin in 2019. This model was never released and instead went to the competition. This is how the Mix Alpha and Mix Fold. But it wasn't just this one foldable phone that we didn't get to see live, there was another one that was more silent than the one in the video above.

This Xiaomi prototype is very similar to the Huawei Mate X series, largely due to the overall design and the rear camera bar. The rear casing of the phone is missing, so you can see the full internal structure. The screen wraps around almost the entire phone when closed, like the Mix Alpha but the camera bar is positioned at the very edge of the phone. One could be the prototype for the Mix Fold.

The interesting thing about the phone is that it could have been made in the same year, 2019, as the one presented by Lin Bin. The source told us that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is powered by a processor, my X50 5G model. A Mix Alpha has been released with the improved SD 855+ chipset. Its dual battery of 3.470 + 3050 mAh would have given a considerable battery life. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold only had 5,020 mAh, but that's not nothing.

The phone was probably not released due to the vulnerability of the outer screen, like the first one, and the Mix Alpha...
