MediaTek's latest Dimensity series recently in the Redmi 10X debut. On Weibo a DigitalChatStation has posted some information about a Xiaomi with a newer Dimensity chip.

According to the leaks, the phone will have a 144 Hz display and the Dimensity 1000+ chip. The Dimensity 1000 series was already unveiled a few weeks ago, where Lu Weibing, Xiaomi's Chinese president and Redmi CEO, was on stage. From such gestures you can infer a close cooperation, but the main thing is that there are sure signs of the chip information.

It is a dual 5G chip made with 7 nm technology, which they describe as "UltraSave", i.e. extremely energy-efficient. It supports a 144 Hz refresh rate, and so-called MiraVision technology, which can result in even more colourful displays. In terms of performance, it features the Cortex A72 and A55 cores known from Snapdragon 865. All of this suggests that this is a true flagship processor, so it's possible that Xiaomi or Redmi could be planning to introduce a MediaTek model in the future, alongside (or instead of) the top-of-the-range Snapdragon model. This is of course speculation, we don't know any concrete information yet.

With the Dimensity 1000+, Vivo's iQOO Z1 has already appeared on the phone. By comparison' in the AnTuTu Benchmark it scores around 530,000 points, for the Mi 10 & Snapdragon 865 pair it's around 580,000 points. The problem is that the starting (6/128) Chinese price of Vivo's model is 2200 yuan, which is about 96 thousand forints, and of course, a phone is not just about sheer performance, the camera, the software is just as important, but the starting (8/128) Chinese price of the Mi 10 was 4000 yuan, which is about 175 thousand forints. I still don't find this price acceptable, especially with the jump the company made compared to the Mi 9 (3000 yuan-131 thousand forints).

My hope is that Redmi can keep its prices down and that the K40 (Pro) with either Snapdragon or MediaTek will be a fairly priced high-end phone next year, or even this year.
