As I wrote a few days ago, the Redmi 12 5G phone today , launched in India on August 1. As expected, almost all rumors were confirmed, it arrived with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor.
The Redmi 12 5G has been launched globally, not just in India. I have not yet received any credible information about the European launch. Globally, it will be available from 4 August at mi.com, Flipkart and official Xiaomi retailers. And of course at unofficial sources... Prices are below.
Specification
The Redmi 12 5G comes with a 6.79″, FHD+, 90 Hz screen and the predicted Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. It truly globalises 5G - for everyone - with cutting-edge data speeds, improved power efficiency and low latency, powered by the Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF system.
The phone has 4/6/8 GB of optional memory, which can be expanded by up to 8 GB from the 128/256 GB UFS2.2 storage. You can also expand the storage via the hybrid slot SIM tray with up to 1TB microSD card.
Power is provided by a 5,000 mAh battery, which means a minimum of 1.5-2 days of battery life. The processor and other hardware are so advanced that, due to reduced power requirements, there is no longer any need to worry about running out of power. Although it can only fast charge at 18W, you still get a 22.5W charger in the case.
No need to worry about scratches, with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 protecting your phone front and back. The design of the casing is very attractive, with a flat screen, flat back and hard edges. The camera modules stand out separately, with an almost iPhone-like touch. But at least it's got IP53 dust and water resistance.

Redmi 12 5G price
Unfortunately, they can only offer you Indian prices, which is very, very promising. It will be available in three packs from 4 August 2023, on mi.com, Amazon and other eastern Xiaomi retailers. There is no official information about a European release yet, but we can expect it in September. Well, here are the prices in India:

Summary
It will be a great little phone, with a 5G capable new SD 4 Gen 2 processor, up to 16 GB of memory, 50 MP all-round camera. Scratch-resistant glass front and back, thin and flat casing that houses a huge 5,000 mAh battery. The MIUI Dialer should not fool anyone, we're sticking with Google Dialer. So all we need now is a good Hungarian price for the phone and we'll have Best Buy at the bottom end!
