Baby Shark Dance became the first video on YouTube to be viewed more than ten billion times.

The children's song was uploaded in June 2016, and although it was an instant hit in Asia, it only really exploded onto the scene in 2019. Baby Shark Dance has been the most watched video on the platform since November 2020, produced by South Korean education company Pinkfong and performed by Korean-American singer Hope Segoine. It has been featured in numerous shows and commercials in recent years, and even made the Billboard Top 40 on one occasion.

The popular children's song features two real children listed on, who perform a dance called the "Baby Shark dance" while being chased by a family of animated sharks.

The catchy children's song tops YouTube's views chart, but the runner-up has no reason to complain: at the time of writing, Luis Fonsi's hit Despacito has 7.7 billion views on the site.
