It's true! Technology will catch up soon and our homes will be better and safer. Biometric fingerprints are now on door locks and are reforming the security of our homes. It's no longer out of our reach!
As you may know, several of Xiaomi's partners use so-called "community funding" to create their products, which are then sold under the wing of the parent company, Xiaomi. The network of partners is very diverse, as they are present in many areas.
The security lock also has 4 different release methods:
- fingerprint resolution
- with a mobile phone app connected via Bluetooth
- with password
- using a "physical" key
The most important unlocking point is the fingerprint recognition sensor, which does not store fingerprints (thanks to its fingerprint-repellent coating, it leaves no trace of your touch) and is made of strong, resistant material. The handle is manufactured using a seamless (machined in one piece) technology that can withstand 100,000 pressure tests (no material fatigue) and therefore comes with a 10-year guarantee from the manufacturer, without the need for any checks. A sensor integrated in the base of the handle (at the pivot point) makes fingerprint detection fast and convenient. It also provides an ergonomic, modern look, making it suitable for installation in a variety of door types.
As for the fingerprint recognition technology, the manufacturer says the door lock uses a live fingerprint chip where all internal data is stored in an independent secure location. The technology allows the door to identify people aged 7-70 years with a high level of confidence, with an error rate of 0.0005%, instead of the average 14-55 years.
The smart module has complex learning capabilities. It learns faster and recognises more frequent patterns more quickly. The lock can withstand extreme weather conditions very well. It operates flawlessly in extremely high or low temperatures, from -25 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.
The lock can be connected to an alarm. Thus, if unauthorized persons try to enter and damage the lock, or try 15x (unregistered) fingerprint unlocking or 5x incorrect password, the lock sends an alarm to the central alarm.
When unlocking with a password, the panel's fingerprint-repellent coating means you can't see your code. It has an anti-peeping virtual password, which is a 16-digit password that we have to add a real password to. This proprietary code is only 6 digits long.
The exact location of the key and the method of opening it are not published by the manufacturer for security reasons!
