The 5G World Conference was officially opened today by the President of Xiaomi, Xiaomi CEO. In his opening speech at the event's forum, he spoke about the 5G era of Xiaomi. The new data transmission technology has huge potential but also many challenges ahead.

Xiaomi CEO said that Xiaomi is building a future-oriented factory in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. Here, it is mainly developing and manufacturing a 5G smartphone, which we will see soon. Construction will be completed by December 2019. This year is still a trial run, with actual production not expected until 2020.
The new 187.000 m2-factory could produce nearly 1 million Mi flagship smartphones in the first phase. The plant will use automated production lines, a fifth-generation wireless network, robots and new technologies to significantly increase production efficiency. It will automatically produce 60 smartphones per minute, which is 60% more than conventional factories.
As we have already reported in the Redmi K30 is the first 5G-enabled mid-range smartphone to be unveiled by Xiaomi in December.
