Artemis' unmanned mission will also take Amazon Alexa into space. This will be the first voice assistant to go on an extra-terrestrial mission.

Artemis I will be the first unmanned space flight of the Artemis programme, during which researchers will test the Orion rocket, a spacecraft designed to carry humans. If all goes well, the spaceflight will take place on 12 March, and although no astronauts will be on board at that time, Amazon's voice assistant Alexa will apparently be on board.

The digital interlocutor not only adds to the mission with his presence, but also with serious tasks Visit then on board: Alexa can access Orion's telemetry data, answer thousands of mission-related questions and even control devices such as the cabin lights. The voice assistant will reside on a tablet in Callisto.

The researchers plan to give Alexa even more tasks in the future, including direct control of the instruments on board the spacecraft, and to give her features that could be used to entertain future passengers. One of the latest developments from NASA's Office of the Inspector General report the earliest date for a manned moon landing is 2026.

The mission can clearly help restore Alexa's tarnished reputation. The digital voice assistant was last in the news when she faced a life-threatening challenge proposed for a ten-year-old child. Fortunately, tragedy did not strike, but it was not Alexa's fault, but the girl's upbringing and the parents' attention.
