I used to think that wired earbuds or headsets would never be replaced by their wireless Bluetooth brethren. But since trying out the latest Xiaomi devices, I'm strongly considering never bothering with cables again. Since Redmi also launched their solution separately earlier this year, I'll be trying that one out as well as soon as it arrives, as we got a beefy deal on it and the other earbuds again.

Let's start with the smallest, mono version. I have already successfully demonstrated and used it for a while. Simple and cheap, it's a great solution for people who drive a lot or don't have more hands to take calls. It is very lightweight and fits well in the ear cup, plus thanks to its interchangeable silicone bells, it is also a great fit in the ear canal of many of us. It can store enough power for up to 3 hours of conversation on a 1 hour charge.

The next step is the stereo version of the previous one, thought a little further. While the mono version can be charged via USB, the Airdots can be charged via the battery built into the case, up to 6 times, so if you only listen to music for 1-2 hours a day, you only need to charge it once a week. The headphones can be used separately, not just together. The sound quality is much improved, thanks to the 7.2 mm dynamic speakers, which are almost imperceptible in the ear due to their size and weight.

And then there's the best BT headset Xiaomi has to offer! It's been dubbed by many as a clone of Apple's AirPods, which I don't think the Chinese deny, as the company has always presented itself as a big rival to Apple. So the aim is to offer better and cheaper products to fans and even competing phone users. I have the Pro version under test right now and I have to say it is something fantastic. It is more comfortable than the regular Airdots and the sound is more refined. The 7mm neodymium-boron magnetic + titanium-coated diaphragm dynamic ring driver unit produces some parabolic sound quality, with really deep bass, mid and treble clarity that smoothly brings the top-end quality of a wired speaker. With 10 hours of battery life, best buy! The dock is a bit bigger and heavier now that the electronics and battery are in the stem and the built-in battery is bigger.

Well, finally we have arrived at the latest pair of Xiaomi Airdots BT5.0 earphones released by Redmi. Unfortunately I can't give you a review yet as it's on its way to me, when it arrives I'm sure there will be a separate article about it. But based on the description, it doesn't offer much less than its Xiaomi brother, actually a black version of it under the Redmi name, only a little cheaper.
