This morning, the blacklisting of Xiaomi and eight other Chinese companies swept across the internet, which you can read more about here. Xiaomi responded to the allegations in a statement.

Dear Partners and Us Fans!

The Company noted that on January 14, 2021 (U.S. time), the U.S. Department of Defense issued a press release listing the Company as a qualified entity under Section 1237 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1999 ("NDAA").

The Company has complied with the law and operated in compliance with the legal requirements in the jurisdictions in which it does business. The Company reiterates that it provides products and services for civic and commercial purposes.

The Company confirms that it is not owned, controlled by or affiliated with the Chinese military and is not a "Communist Chinese Military Enterprise" as defined in the NDAA. The Company will take appropriate measures to protect the interests of the Company and its stakeholders.

The Company will make further notifications if necessary.

Once again, we would like to point out that we, the Hungarian users, are not affected by the sanctions imposed! Only and exclusively on US economic activities, buying/selling of shares, investments!
