11.11 the world's biggest shopping frenzy

This is China's biggest shopping festival and it's no coincidence that it's also the biggest shopping event in the world. To give you an idea of just how massive the Singles' Day event is - in 2020 alone, total sales at this shopping festival reached 498 billion yuan ($24.7 trillion). By comparison, Black Friday weekend sales in the US only generated around $22 billion ($7 trillion) in the same year.
