No, we haven’t received the Xiaomi Mi8 yet, and of course we wouldn’t start with a test like this…..:) However, the team of Wit Rigs, who deal with repairs and spare parts pleased the audience with quite a good test so as nobody should do this.

Xiaomi Mi8 waterproof test includes a washing test, a shower test and an immersion test. In the first two tests, Xiaomi Mi8 did well, in the immersion test, some centimetres under water it also did well, only some bubbles came out of the device but no water got in during 5 minutes. However, more than 1 meter under water, it died, since it has no IP ratings and it is not mentioned whether it is waterproof or splashproof. If you happen to drop it in deeper water you will have to get it out at once, dismantle, battery out and dry it out. If you are smart and fast, then it will survive!
