Things have been heating up in the last few days, with more and more news about the upcoming entry-level smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. As we wrote, it comes at an incredibly low price (90$), but not as low in specs, and will launch on the 20th with a lower price tag than the Redmi 4A.

Compared to the Redmi 4A, it won't change much on the inside, but it's even more so on the outside, as it comes with a metal casing for the price. The other difference is the camera, compared to its predecessor the Redmi 5A gets a 13MP f/2.2 camera with the Phase Detection with Auto Focus (PDAF), which ensures better image quality than its predecessor. The Redmi 4A was not shy about its camera, especially at this price.

Xiaomi President Lin Bin has shared some pictures he took with his new Redmi 5A camera on his Weibo network. The images are not full size, like Facebook, Weibo is also dumbing down, but they are still pretty good by comparison. Not to mention what a value phone we're talking about. Although the pictures were taken in natural light, there's no telling what it will produce indoors or in the dark.

Pre-sales are already underway, not with sky-high margins, we have already seen a price of 109$. Let's hope that after the 20th, the more popular sites will start offering Xiaomi's new low-budget phone at a reasonable price. We still have to wait for its release in domestic stores, but we are also eagerly awaiting it!
