Xiaomi Mi TV Stick tutorial Part 1

Today, the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick finally arrived, which was recently launched in Europe, alongside the Mi Smart Band 5 and other exciting products. Many people, including us, were hoping that Chinese products would be globalised but it didn't happen. Neither the Mi Band 5 nor the Mi TV Stick became what our Eastern comrades could get for themselves.

As the Mi TV Stick is also a media consumption device, like the Mi Box series, by plugging it into any TV with HDMI, you can instantly access and watch your favourite movies, series or channels from the online content providers shown in the picture above. Of course you can also get everything else that is compatible with Android TV from the Play Store. I should note here that a lot of things are not!

The Mi TV Stick is really small enough to fit in your pocket or bag and you can take it anywhere. All you need is WiFi, which of course also has internet access to take advantage of its full potential. But one thing it's missing is a USB socket, so you can watch something good from a USB stick when you're not online. But if you've got your smartphone with you, sharing the mobile internet solves that problem.

Its remote control connects to the Stick via Bluetooth and has all the knowledge you need. Google Assistant helps you find all the info you need, and Google HUB lets you control your smart home devices, lights, switches, etc. by voice. So add 2 AAA alkaline batteries or a rechargeable battery.

And come the iron. It's the same one-in-one as the Mi Box S box. 4-core Cortex-A53 processor and Mali-450 GPU, but not the same. So it's dumbed down, but it could run a 4K movie, but the 1 GB of memory wouldn't last, so you can't hack it, it's completely useless to hack it. Let's hope there will be a Mi TV Stick Pro with all the features. With 8 GB of storage shared between the Android system and the user, you'll have a maximum of 4.5 Giga to store your stuff. There is no possibility to expand!

But if you don't want to, or can't get an app to watch your favourite on, you can send it from your phone to watch on your TV. If the app allows it.

Well! So, a super stuff, so far it took me the technical blah blah blah, we'll be back with the test soon, that's tomorrow! Ahh and one more, video is being made for a demonstration of this, you can watch it at the top of the article in case anyone hasn't noticed. If you have any ideas of what else to watch it for. Leave a comment on our Facebook page, for this post and I'll check it out!
