Not just for Xiaomi, the next top-of-the-range device from most major manufacturers is dreamed up by skilled graphics designers before release, to meet expectations. Now Xiaomi's next (we hope) big launch, the Mi Mix 3, is the intended victim.

The maker Science and Knowledge thought that, in line with fan expectations and this year's innovations, the screen-to-body ratio could reach that of the 99%. What does this mean in reality? Looking at the image above, there is almost no border around the entire screen. This is nothing new, Vivo and Oppo have already solved it this year, but why would Xiaomi want to copy two Chinese companies when we know its biggest rival is still Apple.

The under-screen fingerprint scanner is nothing new within the brand, although the Mi 8 Explorer Edition doesn't really want to launch and the promised technology hasn't been seen live by anyone in the world yet.

Like the phones mentioned above, the selfie camera will pop out of the case when you need it. The speech speaker will be further improved with improved volume compared to the first Mix and perhaps the other sensors will manage to be placed behind the screen. We would be very curious to see that.

But let's see the full video, where every detail of the Mi Mix 3 is revealed.

Other ideas from the maker include Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, ceramic on the back, surrounded by an aluminium casing. IPS LCD display which is 6″ in diameter and FHD+ resolution (1440×2960), with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and covers the front of the phone in 99%. Although it's not inconceivable that it will get a (SAM)OLED display (I hope not ed.). Triple rear camera, reminiscent of Huawei's solution and the front snapper is the Vivo/Oppo pair. MIUI 10 with Android 9 (Pistachio) base is still pretty powerful, as 8.0/8.1 has only just been introduced. There's not much in the way of internal components, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC 6/8GB RAM, 64/128/256GB internal storage, but the triple rear camera is more interesting, with a total resolution of 40MP, 3x optical zoom, 4-axis OiS, dual tone LED flash. The pop-up selfie camera wasn't thought to be small either, with 23MP straight away for 16K selfies on sledges... the usual USB-C connector with 3.5 jack converter, 3,400 mAh battery with QC4.0 charging and all this for 586$.

Dare to dream big!
