It's already certain that this year will see the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 phone, with a higher screen-to-body ratio than the previous one. Xiaomi also designed this year's superphone with French designer Philippe Starck, who also designed the first Mix concept. There is almost no concrete news about the Mi Mix 2 plans, so it remains at rumour level.

A leaked Xiaomi document for developers shows the concept of the Mi Mix 2. The document reveals the innovative design of the Mi Mix 2, which will be similar to the Samsung S8 and the full-screen version of the LG G6. The document also mentions the full-screen technology, from which we can infer that in the near future Xiaomi will introduce full-screen phones with larger displays and a higher screen ratio. The main focus of the document is the impact of the larger screen and new design on the software, drawing the developers' attention to two important aspects, the larger screen ratio and the virtual buttons.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix was released last October with a 6.4-inch display that accounted for 91.3% of the screen and had an aspect ratio of 17:9. The Mi Mix 2 display won't necessarily be larger in size, but the screen-to-body ratio will likely be increased to 93%, as well as the higher aspect ratio indicated in the leaked document. The Mi Mix will feature virtual navigation buttons and use a Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic technology to replace the traditional one. In the Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi's partners who developed the AAC technology are developing a new generation of audio technology that will be used in the new model. The new AAC sound driver will produce much better screen vibration, so the audible frequency range can be extended. This will also improve the performance of the 3GPP standard.

In a render image circulating on the internet, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 looks very similar to the current top phone, the Galaxy S8. The device shown in the picture is smaller than 6.4-inch Mi Mix, so it may not be the Mix 2. So it is too early to talk about the concept of Mix 2, as it will be released only in the last quarter.

There's still a lot of speculation about the picture, some people see it as a Redmi Pro 2 phone, but if it was a new Redmi series, it would push the price up a lot. Others see it as the Mi6 Plus, which we should see soon. The creator of the image has firmly stated that this is not the Samsung Galaxy S8, but a mystery device running the new MIUI.
