This morning, we learned that Meizu will unveil its next flagship, the Pro7, on 26 July. According to new data from tech analyst Kevin Wang, Xiaomi will hold an event on the same day. Although he did not predict what device will be unveiled, if rumours are to be believed, it will be the Xiaomi Mi 5X.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X is the latest Xiaomi phone according to news/rumours. Their latest smartphone, like Vivo and OPPO, will specialise specifically in photography. Rumors so far have suggested that Xiaomi was going to launch a new sub-brand, Lamni (Blue Rice), including Lamni X1, but these rumors remain at rumor level, with no basis in reality.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X will come with two rear cameras, a combination of a Sony IMX386 and a Samsung S5K3M3 CMOS sensor, and a 16MP front camera. According to the leaked poster, it will be equipped with a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB of RAM. The price tag reads 1,999 Yuan (~295 $). A larger version has also been mentioned, which will be powered by a Snapdragon 660, with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. If the base version will be priced around 300$, it shouldn't be more than 350$.

Xiaomi uploaded the above photo to its Weibo page, showing an advertisement for a Mr. X photo studio, but later Mi 5X ambassador Wu Yifan confirmed it on his Weibo page with a picture of him holding the phone in his hand in that photo studio.

Zooming in on the picture of the phone in his hand, this is the phone that was recently leaked, with the double rear camera, the Xiaomi Mi 5X (X1).
