Weeks ago, the Chinese developer version of MIUI9 based on Android 8.0 Oreo was released for some phones, such as the Xiaomi Mi5, Mi Mix and Mi Note 2. Xiaomi has confirmed on the MIUI English forum that its Global, the update that includes the English language, will be available for testing by select MIUI fans.
However, the availability of Stable MIUI 9.5 will be extended to up to 30 smartphones, but the update will only include the latest MIUI version and not the newer version of the Android operating system.Available from March 2018 for Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm/Redmi Note 4X, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Redmi 3S, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 4A and Redmi Note 4 MTK. Going back to the Global developer branch, Xiaomi has already released the Android 8.0 Oreo update for devices like Mi A1, Mi MIX 2, Mi 6, Redmi Note 5 Pro. But there are also devices like Mi Note 3, Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5A Prime, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi Note 5A Prime Mi Max 2, Mi Note 2, Mi MIX, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5, Mi 5X, Mi 5C and Mi Pad 3 have not yet received the new Android base.
As I mentioned above, the search for testers has started for testing the Android 8 Global beta rom, so expect a public release in a few weeks.
