You've probably heard about the xiaomi.eu roms and their advantages over the global system. I wrote an article about this not too long ago, which you can read here. So far, the Mi 11 only had fastboot installation options, but now the simpler TWRP/recovery is available! Let me show you!
For this operation it is essential that the bootloader is open! This will invalidate the warranty with most vendors, but check with the store or read the warranty terms and conditions first.
Download the files to the C:\Download folder, it's the easiest way. Let's get started!
- Download the rom file from here to your PC
- Download TWRP for PC from here
- Download the ADB and fastboot binaries from here for PC
- Unzip and install the ADB and fastboot utilities
- Switch off the phone and switch it on in fastboot mode (volume down + on)
- Plug your phone into your PC
- Open a command prompt and navigate to the C:\Download folder
- Check the connection of the phone with the "fastboot devices" command. If you get a code line back, it's ok, if not, it's not ok, check
- Boot the phone in TWRP with the command "fastboot boot mi-11-twrp3.5.1-recovery-v21.5.10_decrypted.img"
- If the phone has started in TWRP mode, everything is OK and you can upload the rom file. When prompted by TWRP, give it the lock screen code.
- You can set the English language in the right-hand column, under the second button from the bottom, globe at the top, English, grey button.
- Then the phone will appear in any file manager on your PC, upload the rom file to the phone
- In the TWRP menu: install - load ROM file - install. At the end of the process, you can do a Wipe Cache and REBOOT
