After a long struggle to restore HTTPS encryption, we're back with some late news, but we'll catch up and come back with the latest!

Flexible display technology is not new and the devices presented so far are innovative, but the market is not yet ready. Samsung, the world's leading mobile phone manufacturer, has already unveiled its plans, but Chinese rival Huawei wants to be the first in the world to do it.

And that's where Xiaomi comes in. Curved screens will be the big bang in 2019, with the big brands joining the competition next year and knowing the pricing strategy of the companies, a similar solution from Xiaomi will be more affordable than the competition. The take-up of foldable handsets will certainly not start this year, prototypes and designs are already in the pipeline, but the production costs and technology still need to be refined, as the price of such a phone is currently around USD 2000.

Currently, 4 big companies (Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi) are working on foldable phones with flexible displays, but riding this wave, LG and Motorola will join in, increasing their market presence and competition. It remains to be seen how the market will react to these solutions, but we're curious to see what they can bring.

If they come up with something like the Hubblephone, then there's nothing to fear, although even now, the extreme sci-fi effect of the devices will not beat the classic designs.
