Mi 9 showcased alternatives to wireless charging of the 3,300 mAh battery Xiaomi CEO, much to our surprise, one was a car holder and wireless charger.
So far, Xiaomi hasn't really had a universally practical phone holder, the magnetic one that you had to stick on the vent didn't really work. On the other hand, it was a cheap solution, but you had to glue a small metal disc to the phone or its case to use it. The new wireless holder for the Xiaomi just needs to be attached to the vent, which is not perfectly feasible in all cars. A suction cup wouldn't hurt for it to be fully universal.
However, the fixing unit is of excellent quality, not just plugging it into one of the slats and then it's on, but held in place by strong rubberised arms with strong springs. Thus ensuring the integrity of the mount and most importantly our phone. The holder is suitable for holding any phone with a width of no more than 81.5 mm. Mostly designed for Mi 9 and iPhone XS Max. For wireless charging, a USB Type-C connector is required to induce 5V/3A 9V/2A 12V/2A (18W) / 15V/1.8A 20V/1.35A (27W) charging power in the phone's battery. A built-in controlled fan dissipates the heat generated during the four-power charge, especially if you're using it in winter and the heating is on.
A great feature of the holder is that the two side clamping levers are motorised and automatically open when you want to put or take the phone on or off. Power is essential for this function, so it must be plugged into a cigarette lighter and have an ignition switch so that the infrared sensor can see when the phone is moving closer or further away from the holder.
