New information has emerged about the upcoming Xiaomi 13/Pro phones and the MIUI 14 interface running on them, which will be based on Android 13. What has already been written, have just been confirmed, but there are new developments. There will be not just two, but three members of the new series.

Of the Xiaomi 13/Pro phones, so far I'm told that only the Pro gets the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. But today's rumour is that the regular one will come with it too. Not to mention the third phone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Their release, like the previous series, could be on a different date. The regular and the Pro will be released in early December, while the Ultra will be released next year. The SD8Gen2 chip will use a new "1+2+2+3" eight-core architecture, of which the supercore, Cortex X3, will be upgraded to 22% higher than the Cortex X2 performance. Alternatively, the large core will be upgraded to Cortex A715, with performance improved by 5% and power efficiency by 20% compared to Cortex A710.

There's also a bit of news about the screens, with the plain Xiaomi 13 coming with a straight FHD+ AMOLED screen, while the Pro will have a 2K resolution curved on four sides. As for the camera, we already thought that the Pro would get the best. Specifically, it will be equipped with the Sony IMX989 image sensor with Leica optimization. We've already seen this in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and it didn't really impress the press.

Compared to the previous Xiaomi 12 Pro Sony IMX707 sensor, the light sensitive area has increased by 72%. The light sensitive capacity increased by 76% and the camera speed increased by 32.5%. And the shutter speed increased by 11%, a big improvement in imaging, like a "rebirth".

Xiaomi 13/Pro global launch

Returning to appearance. The Xiaomi 13/Pro phones will probably be released globally. This can be deduced from the MIUI code that the global and European stable MIUI 14 is being tested on Android 13. The Xiaomi 13 V14.0.0.2.TMBEUXM and Xiaomi 13 Pro, V14.0.0.2.TMCEUXM versions have already been leaked. So it has become clear that we can talk about a global release.
