Xiaomi is constantly discontinuing support for its phones, because everything becomes obsolete. Now two new phones have been added to the list, one a very popular and big favourite, the other in the "still running" category. So we have 70 telephone support has been withdrawn.

Xiaomi lists on its website which phones have been discontinued in the last 12 years. From the Xiaomi Mi 1, released in 2011, to the Xiaomi Mi Play-up to and including. And yes, you see, next to it is the Mi 9 SE phone... So far it's only been taken off the update lists, at least the Global list, but it was still on the Chinese list. Unfortunately with this announcement it is now clear that it will not receive any updates. Peace be with you.

The Xiaomi Mi Play was launched in December 2018, somewhat unexpectedly. Back then, Krisztián wrote about it, but he couldn't put it anywhere, even though the preliminary leaks, apart from the weak hardware, would have made it a pretty cool phone. The Mi Play's raison d'être pretty much died when it came out, although maybe only us Europeans and everyone but China thought so.

This is the list of Redmi phones (which are not Xiaomi phones!) that have been discontinued. Although there's not much change here, that's nothing. The latest Redmi phone is the Note 6 Pro, which has been completely discontinued. Saying that is interesting because Redmi (Note) 7 series doesn't get anything anymore either.
