There's nothing new under the sun, at least that's what the less enthusiastic fans might say, seeing Xiaomi's innovative new plans for two new phone camera distributions. While the more serious line, the Mix, is waiting for its next iteration, the rumours are swirling around the 64MP Redmi phone that has just surfaced.

One of Xiaomi's filed patents in China, which is very similar to the previous model and of course to the competitor's solution. The sliding back is known from the Mi Mix 3, and the rear camera is from Huawei and Motorola. Although its layout and shape is not angular, I wouldn't call it a unique idea.

The 64MP Redmi phone is the reason why I mentioned it before the pictures, because under the pictures published by Weibo, Xiaomi staff mention that the phone has 4 cameras, in addition to the Redmi camera features. There is, so present time since the phone is already ready.

The first two pictures are just part of the advertising campaign, but the third one Xiaomi CEO has posted a picture of their new headquarters with the 64MP Redmi. So the phone will be unveiled soon and we can start another wave of fikazing that they're only throwing megapixels instead of any other improvements... Although it could be that the above plan is not Redmi's new top phone but the Mi Mix 4 will unfold from it, we'll see.

Xiaomi has another plan for a simpler phone, with only 3 sensors on the back as usual, but with a front panel that is completely different from the previous ones. The dual selfie camera is nothing new, just the layout. A nice curved notch houses the camera and sensor modules. But why still need a notch? Can they hide the camera, sensor, etc. under the screen now, or is this going to be another low budget phone in the Redmi series.
