The Chinese Intellectual Property Office has approved Xiaomi's latest patent for an antenna module and wearable device. It will improve the positioning accuracy and communication efficiency of smart wearable devices.
"The radiating body of the antenna module contains a first radiating part and a second radiating part, which are isolated from each other. A first tuning circuit is connected to the first tuning point of the first radiating part and a second tuning circuit is connected to the second tuning point of the second radiating part. By arranging the lengths of the first radiating section and the second radiating section, adjusting the positions of the first tuning point and the second tuning point, and tuning the first radiating section and the second radiating section, the first radiating section and the second radiating body can support dual positioning band and dual communication band, which improves the positioning accuracy and communication efficiency of the antenna module and the smart wearable device including said antenna module."
From the patent information alone, it is easy to see that the patent is aimed at improving the location and communication quality of smart wearable devices. It is not yet known whether Xiaomi will use this patent for smart wearables after the patent is filed.
