New name for MIUI smart toolbar

Earlier this month, a feature similar to Samsung's Edge panel was added to MIUI, called Smart Toolbar. Although the feature is still in testing, it has already been given a new name.

Xiaomi recently unveiled the Smart toolbox in the weekly beta of MIUI. The feature is similar to the one found in Samsung devices For Edge panel.

For some reason, Xiaomi has not yet joined the ranks of manufacturers who have incorporated this feature into their systems. At first it had a strange name, because the smart toolbar doesn't say much.

According to the MIUI SYSTEM UPDATES Telegram channel, the Smart toolbox has now been renamed to a simple sidebar. The new name is MIUI Security application update.

The change log mentions renaming the feature, fixing known bugs and optimising overall performance.

It is likely that the functionality of the Sidebar will be expanded based on user feedback.
