Two weeks ago, Redmi announced on Weibo that working on a phone with a 64MP sensor. This morning, it was revealed that Redmi has partnered with Samsung to develop the 64MP S5KGW1SP03 sensor for the mag.

Director of Mobile Product Marketing at Xiaomi, Yan Zhiyuan, Weibo page posted these pictures this morning, confirming the arrival of Samsung GW1 chips. Yan revealed that they have stockpiled enough to meet the initial rush, as this will be the world's first mobile phone with a 64MP sensor.

The size of the new 64MP card is slightly larger than the previous top 48MP, exactly 1/1.7″, which is quite a bit. It can capture 34% more images than its predecessor, with a brutal resolution of 9,248 x 6,936 pixels, which can print up to 3.26 metres high in high quality.

With a pixel size of 1.6μm and 4 in 1, the sensor uses new black technology to convert even more light into digital pixels to create the best possible image, even in the dark. ISOCELL PLUS improves colour reproduction and sets the signal-to-noise ratio to the optimum value with intelligent ISO adjustment.

The release date of the phone is not yet known, nor what it will be called. But rumours suggest that it could be the Redmi Note 8 (Pro?), which is recently announced MediaTek Helio 90T processor will include.
