Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, is about to embark on another science project, and Katalin Karikó has been mentioned in the context.

Iron Man, also known as Tony Stark, is a brilliant tech tycoon, and his star Robert Downey Jr. is a climate change campaigner. The world-famous actor has spoken out repeatedly about the time it's time for the supervillains to take their place on a truly looming problem take up the fight, and the star isn't just talking out of his ass: in 2019, he set up the Footprint Coalition, an investment fund to support fast-growing green tech companies, and now he has come up with a new project to support marginalised scientific research.

The Science Engine aims to raise awareness of scientific research that may not get the support it needs because of today's bureaucratic systems. The world-famous actor from Fast Company co-written with David Lang Article from wrote about how the pandemic has led to much less scientific research, and that a world-changing idea may not be realised because of the growing bureaucracy. At this point, he also mentioned the Hungarian biochemist Katalin Karikó.If a Nobel Prize were awarded for overcoming bureaucratic obstacles, do you know who it would go to? Katalin Karikó" - the actor wrote, referring to the obstacle-filled path that led the Hungarian researcher to patent the basis of the mRNA technology.

Robert Downey Jr. had originally planned to focus on AI and robotics as his character in the film, but he changed his mind and set his sights on fighting climate change.
