After the highly successful Redmi Note 8 family comparison, here's a video and article on the Redmi Note 9 series to help you make your choice. Choosing between the three members of the family (Note 9, Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro), which still dominate the midfield, is not an easy task, and based on knowledge and price, everyone can decide for themselves which is the best for them. But I'd like to make this difficult task a little easier, I hope I've been able to help...

Redmi Note 9 vs Note 9S vs Note 9 Pro

Of the three phones, the Redmi Note 9 is perhaps the most different from the others, as it's powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor rather than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G like the other two, and it also differs in size and screen diagonal. Although the Redmi Note 9's casing is smaller than the others only in height, it's thicker and a hair wider.

  • Redmi Note 9: 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm
  • Redmi Note 9S: 165.75 x 76.68 x 8.8 mm
  • Redmi Note 9 Pro: 165.75 x 76.68 x 8.8 mm

However, in the main camera, it's the other way around, with the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9S having the same 48 MP Sony image sensor, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 64 MP Samsung sensor.

Redmi Note 9 camera

  • 48 MP main camera
  • 8 MP super wide angle of view
  • 2 MP depth sensor
  • 2 MP macro

Redmi Note 9S camera

  • 48 MP main camera
  • 8 MP super wide angle of view
  • 2 MP depth sensor
  • 5 MP macro

Redmi Note 9 Pro camera

  • 64 MP main camera
  • 8 MP super wide angle of view
  • 2 MP depth sensor
  • 5 MP macro

What I missed in the video is the location of the fingerprint reader. While it's on the back of the Redmi Note 9, below the cameras, it's on the side of the power button on the Redmi Note 9S and Note 9 Pro.

The location of the selfie camera also varies between phones, with the Redmi Note 9 having a hole in the top left corner, while the Note 9S and Pro have it in the middle. Their resolution also varies in the same way, with the Note 9 at 13 MP and the Note 9S and Pro at 16 MP.

Prices

Of course, these subtle differences are also reflected in the price of the phones, not to mention the fact that only Redmi Note 9 Pro includes NFC functionality, compared to the Note 9S, which has the same iron but has been omitted. The difference between the Note 9 and Note 9S is on average 10,000 HUF, while the difference between the Note 9S and Note 9 Pro is up to 15,000 HUF. As I explained in the video, if you don't need the phone for gaming and other performance-related things, the regular Note 9 will do the trick, if you need more performance and screen, the Note 9S, but if NFC is important and only a numerically better camera, the Note 9 Pro.
