The new Redmi Note 8 series, launching in autumn 2019, will have 3 members as of early November. The latest model is the Redmi Note 8T, which is slightly larger and heavier than the Redmi Note 8, but now also comes with NFC for touch payments. The trio's special feature is the quad rear camera, which means that in addition to the front selfie camera, there are now 4 sensors at the back with different resolutions and different lenses with different angles of view. In addition to the 48MP (Note 8/Note 8T) or 64MP (Note 8 Pro) main sensors, we also get ultra-wide-angle, depth of field / telephoto, and macro sensors.

Product variants

1. Redmi Note 8 Pro

It has a MediaTek Helio G90T processor, 64 MP quad camera and 4,500 mAh battery. A Helio G90T processor specifically designed for mobile gaming, providing stable performance. Along with strong computing and graphics performance, you get liquid cooling, a large battery, and an antenna design that ensures stable Wi-Fi/mobile network connectivity without interference, all at an affordable price.

2. Redmi Note 8

It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE processor, 48MP quad camera and 4,000 mAh battery, with upgraded hardware, better camera and better build quality compared to the Redmi Note 7. All the hardware together provides great battery life.
Recommended for general use: photography, telephony, social media, content consumption, games with medium hardware requirements.

3. Redmi Note 8T

The latest Note 8T is a slightly improved version of the Note 8. Although it's bigger in physical size and weight, at least the battery size hasn't been reduced due to NFC. It's still comfortable to hold, and the few mm increase in shock resistance (larger shock-absorbing zone) makes it the best of the trio in terms of price/value. It doesn't consume much and doesn't get hot, so it's highly recommended for active everyday use: photography, telephony, social media, content consumption, medium-hardware games, contactless payments.

The Redmi Note 8 range is again a decent series in the upper-mid range, ideal for everyday use. The hardware performance of the phones is complemented by the software optimisation of the MIUI system, which is guaranteed to be updated for years.
