So far, for the last 10 years, we have known exactly that Chinese Xiaomi/Redmi phones did not support Google services at the system level. There was no Google support, but it was possible to remedy this with a Chinese app if you bought the phone from there.

The Chinese Redmi Note 10 Pro phone has not only received the MIUI 12.5 stable update, but also a newer version number, 12.5.5, with fantastic new features. The first is an incredible and surprising new feature, a first for Xiaomi. It's the Google Framework and Google Play!

It seems that the two companies have somehow come to an agreement, as all forms of Google service have been banned in China. Or is this the precursor to a MIUI? Not long ago, in the latest internal MIUI 13 test system, it was noticed that Chinese apps are multilingual. At system level only you couldn't select between Eastern and English for anything, but if you got a converted Settings app, you could select almost any language. While not all apps supported European languages in 100%, at least English was the missing piece.

The other new feature is the introduction of virtual memory, which takes 2 GB of space from the back and uses it alongside the existing physical memory. From UFS 3 and later hosting management solutions already allow for fast read/write access that makes this possible. So, if you have "only" 6 GB of memory built into your phone, you can expect 8 GB of memory when you turn on this feature. So 8 GB becomes 10 GB, isn't that great?
