Generally speaking, Xiaomi has been backing off its upgrade schedule for a few years now and quite a few phones have been forgotten. The current update schedule is 2 Android base and 3 MIUI versions, mostly for SD procs phones. But here are some exceptions: the Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and Poco M2

Redmi 9

The Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and the resulting Poco M2 are also based on MediaTek's Heli G8 series. For a long time, the MTK ProSeries phones were very poorly received, and so was the manufacturer. But something happened here and these models became very popular. As a result, Xiaomi didn't let up, launching with Android 10-based MIUI 11.

According to some inside sources, the support for the three phones is not over yet, although it is not on the official list because it only includes the PHONES FROM THE FIRST ROUND are listed. It is likely that the next series will include Xiaomi 9 and Redmi 9 phones, although there will be exceptions. Such as the famous Mi 9 SE, which has already got what it could get, although it's incomprehensible that an SD712 phone wouldn't be able to cope with the new MIUI.

So they can get the MIUI 13 update and it doesn't end there, as Android 12 will be the second base version of the main Android version they can get. Until this is confirmed by the manufacturer itself, take it with a pinch of salt. But we'll be back with more details as soon as we have official info!
