The name Pocophone is already burned into our brains, not because it's so good - although looking at the specs and AnTuTu numbers, it's pretty good - but because it's a name that's both interesting and funny to us. Well, Xiaomi is not a name that Europeans are used to, and to this day many people pronounce it "Xiaomi", even though it's "Saomi".

After all the rumours and news, the official Poco Facebook page has finally been launched and the unboxing videos of the phone have been released, even though it is not available yet. Moreover, it's from Romania, not India, where the official sale of the device will start on the 22nd of this month. Launches in India usually precede global market launches, so it's not out of the question that the Poco F1 will be available not only there, but worldwide.

The Poco F1 phone is famous for being made by Xiaomi, and a lot of the hardware from the cutting-edge Mi8 series was taken from them. Although the rear dual camera is not the usual side-mounted protruding dual module, but is positioned centrally aligned, in line with the fingerprint reader. The Poco F1 is in the high-end category, with the liquid-cooled Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6/8GB RAM and 64/128/256GB storage to prove it.

With the launch of the Poco F1 in India, they are trying to fill a void left by the Mi Mix 2. It's currently the best official Xiaomi phone in the country and needs to be put up there with the OnePlus 6 to be a worthy competitor, both in terms of knowledge and price. Regardless of it being a high end phone, the price will be hefty, not that Xiaomi phones don't have it, but India is quite price sensitive. We'll find out on the 22nd!
