This feature debuted with the Mi 9, it will definitely be available in the top-end Mi phones after that, I don't think it will be available in the mid-range Redmi phones - update: our reader has indicated that it is available on Redmi Note 7, top-end Redmi and Poco phones are questionable.

Many people think of taking a photo of the moon, especially when it is full, and many are disappointed to see that there is nothing but a white light. This is solved by the Xiaomi factory camera's moon mode app, but it is not found in the modes, such as a night mode.

To lure it out, you need to do 2 things:

  1. Switch on AI mode (top, centre left).
  2. Use a minimum zoom of 4x.

And that's it, facing the moon, the option to select the moon mode appears.

Then, on phones that only have a maximum 10x zoom by default, you can zoom up to 20x in this mode, although in my experience with the Mi 9 it's not worth it because, as you can see in the picture, it gets too bright.

And the result? We used 9, just cut around, without editing something like that:
