MIUI 14 "Razor Project" - it's going to be great!

Today Xiaomi officially premiered MIUI 14, with the slogan "Razor Project". MIUI 14 is an ultra-clean system with "minimal firmware, minimal memory usage and minimal unremovable apps".

Xiaomi CEO, the founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, interpreted the "razor plan", saying that the blade of the plan faces inwards, "cutting it three times". It aims to create the lightest and smoothest system possible. (sorry for the sometimes nonsensical expressions, but the Chinese have a screwed up way of putting it)

First cut

The first cut: start with the bloated system firmware! Over the past 12 years, with Android updates, MIUI firmware has only grown. This time, it's been revisited to break the natural expansion of the system. Compared to the previous generation, MIUI 14 firmware has been reduced by 23%. – Xiaomi CEO

The second cut: start using system memory! Check non-essential self-starting processes one by one, tightly control memory usage of system applications and services. Free up boot memory as much as possible to ensure proper usage. – Xiaomi CEO

The third cut: start with non-removable apps! This time we give you the right to select system features, minimize the number of unremovable apps and delete the rest. – Xiaomi CEO

In summary, MIUI 14 will be sleeker, faster and more customisable. All of this is only for the Chinese version, but I hope the globalised version will come to us with similar features. Just having the Play Store of Google stuff on the phone would do more to improve the perception, so that I can decide what to have on the phone. Or what should be the default app and not have to put up with the constant forcing of apps.

What does all this mean? Now we know that all the Xiaomi 13 series are Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will contain. With a slimmer and faster version of MIUI 14, the best mobile processor will squeeze performance out of the phone that we've never seen before. To increase battery capacity, I am more concerned about battery life. Once the battery life is sufficient, I am more concerned about the width, thickness and grip of the phone. If you want to increase battery capacity, you just need to make the phone wider and thicker, which is too easy. But with the width, thickness and grip of the Xiaomi 13, it's very difficult to reach 4500 mAh and even harder to get excellent battery life at the same time!
