Although every year so far we've had a new MIUI version, sometimes better, sometimes worse. You could love it and hate it, but everyone came to terms with the new interface and features quickly. This year will probably be the first year where last year's main MIUI version isn't updated and MIUI 13 doesn't come.
Another tip-off from the Chinese Digital Chat Station Weibo page that MIUI 13 will not be released this year, even in China. According to the site, the weekly beta test in China will not start until the end of the year. This is not good news for us, as the EEA system, which is also used in our country, will be updated much later than the Chinese one. The closed Chinese beta will be followed by the public beta, then the stable beta, after which the global and EEA will get it. So after the public release it will be 2-3 months, maybe May 2022.
According to the site, the closed beta of MIUI 13 is based on Android 11 and 12. This is because Android 12 is still in testing on many phones. From Read the Android 12 update schedule here. So with the new MIUI, there will be NO new Android versions NOW, as there have been for the last 11 years. But the new MIUI interface will have a lot of new features and of course the current MIUI 12.5 Enhanced will be the base performance.
But it might be good news for those on the Chinese line, or one of their custom versions, like xiaomi.eu rom. For them, the new internal version will probably leak out, but we'll be there with updates!
