As expected, or as we announced, the Xiaomi Mi A3 has become the European version of the Xiaomi CC9e, with some modifications. Many Android One fans are mouthing off about the announced hardware specs and voicing their opinions strongly under every post. No wonder...
The next member of the Xiaomi Mi A series, the A3, was officially unveiled yesterday. Compared to the hardware that has been almost completely taken over from the well-known CC9e phone, the LTE frequencies have been extended, with the B20/800 mHz band, which is also used in our country. Almost everything else remains... But let's look at what is and isn't an improvement over its predecessor.
I'll start with the most striking difference, and the one that has put off most people who want to switch, is the screen.
Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, 16M colours 6.01″, 88.7 cm 2 (~80.3% screen-to-body ratio) 720 x 1560 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~286 ppi density)
Although the size has increased with the screen-to-body ratio, the dimensions of the phone have been reduced, so a thinner bezel optically increases the screen size. The IPS LCD display has been replaced by a SAMOLED display, which again opens up minor controversy as the colour reproduction of the two display technologies is completely different. LCD reproduces true colours, while AMOLED reproduces brighter, more saturated colours, which many prefer, although it is far from the reality. And the final deterrent is resolution. Instead of FullHD, you get HD! But what's the difference between the two? It's a lot of nonsense to write this down in layman's terms, we'll compare when we get the phone for a test and then we'll be smarter with real experience.
But in LTE and SIM management, the A3 is an improvement
Although only 28(700) is new in terms of bands, but in SIM management, both SIM trays now support 4G/LTE management simultaneously, while A2 only supports the first tray if two cards are included. However, while the A2's back space could not be expanded, the A3 now accepts SD cards!
The A3 is an improvement on the A3 in terms of size and protection, but it's heavier.

158.7 x 75.4 x 7.3 mm 166 g Glass front, aluminium back
153.5 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm 173.8 g Front panel Corning Gorilla glass 5, back panel Corning Gorilla glass 5, aluminium frame
The difference in processor is an ant's ankle, but in hardware management and artificial intelligence support, it's not the same. Based on the 11nm architecture, the 665 consumes less power, supports a 48MP resolution module, can handle more cameras together, graphics performance has also increased significantly. In memory, there is no choice anymore, we only get 4GB of ram and for the back, we can no longer choose 32GB, as that will be too little given the camera resolution. The software is not surprising, as we know that the A series runs Android One in Android One, not MIUI.
There's no doubt that the A3 is doing the camera rounds of its predecessor, the Mi 9, which has been known since the triple camera system and can also be considered a selfie king. But strangely, there's only a single-tone LED flash on the back, but this is compensated for by the AI and sensors, as is the front-facing sensor, which, as CC9e ads have shown, can take bright and sharp pictures without the LED.
Furthermore, with the AMOLED display, the fingerprint reader has been moved under the screen and the battery has been significantly increased from 3,000 mAh to 4,030 mAh. This and Android One have increased the battery life considerably, but we'll see in the tests. If it does run out, it can be charged in no time with the QC3.0 18W charger. WiFi, BT, GPS are still there, but the FM radio is new and there is no NFC!
In terms of colours, they've come up with something of a botched idea, A3 is called More than White, Not just Blue and Kind of Grey in English: More than White, Not just Blue and Kind of Grey. Now this is going to be white, blue and grey with a noble simplicity.
However, in price they have got their hands a little bit slower than the A2. While last year the Mi A2 hit the virtual shelves with a price tag of 190 Euros, the 4/64 version of the Mi A3 announced yesterday costs 249 Euros while the 4/128 version costs 279 Euros.
The phone is not yet available anywhere, and can only be bought in advance both abroad and at home, Gearvita for 250$ (~72.660 Ft) offers delivery, while the xiaomishop.hu for 77.990 Ft, with 2 years Hungarian warranty. The official Hungarian reseller hopes to have it available for purchase in August in Mi Store stores and on their xiaomi.hu webstore.
