The Redmi Note range continues to expand, but only in China. The Redmi Note 12R is very similar to the globally released Redmi 12, with some minor differences.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset promises higher performance and aims to deliver this performance at the lowest price. While there are some setbacks compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, this is normal given that smartphones equipped with this chipset will be sold at an affordable price. Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 has moved to the new Samsung 4nm (4LPP) manufacturing process. In addition, it now supports LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 should reinvigorate mid-range smartphones with increased bandwidth and high data transfer speeds. The high clock speed ARM Cortex-A78 CPUs are combined with the 4 nm LPP process. The presence of LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 support compared to Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 indicates that Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 will offer better performance. However, there are setbacks in some aspects of the SoC. The previous 3x 12-bit Spectra ISP is no longer present and is replaced by a 2x 12-bit ISP. Devices with Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 should see better performance in areas such as photography.
Redmi Note 12R
The Redmi Note 12R is actually the Redmi 12 inspired by. Many of its features are identical to the Redmi 12. The biggest difference is the switch from Helio G88 to Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. This has resulted in improved interface performance, allowing for smoother gaming experiences. The other difference between the two models is the lack of an 8 MP Ultra Wide Angle camera, as the Redmi Note 12R has a 50 MP dual-camera system.
All other features are the same as the Redmi 12.The smartphone comes with a 5000 mAh battery capacity and supports 18 W fast charging. The Redmi Note 12R features a 6.79-inch LCD panel with 1080×2460 resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, which provides an excellent viewing experience.
The Redmi Note 12R is only available in China for the time being, in 4/128 GB, 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB. The price in Xiaomi stores is 1,099 Yuan ~ 51,500 Ft, but in China Telekom's offer for a new subscription is only 999 Yuan ~ 46,800 Ft. Which POCO version do you think we will see though?
