Already last year, the changes in Xiaomi's management in India caused a stir, leading to the conclusion that they would not continue with the much sought after POCOPHONE F1 phone series.

For those of you who have not yet switched to any other Xiaomi phone (Mi, Redmi, etc.) and are waiting for the big one to follow, we have good news! The POCO F2 trademark has been registered in China!

A Twitter juzer (@_the_tech_guy) recently posted these two certificates protecting the POCO F2 word/logo, but in China. Which is quite interesting, as until now POCOPHONE as a brand was known as India's own Xiaomi subsidiary. The protection was filed back on December 4, 2019 and the release date known as the first version is 2 months away. So, the POCO F2 phone could be released as early as mid-February, if we take the Chinese New Year as a base. But if it is launched in India again, it could of course happen sooner.

Since Xiaomi's big launch for the year will be announced after the holidays, the POCO F2 may come with it or after it, as the Xiaomi Mi 10/Pro is not expected in India. We'll be in touch as soon as we know more!
