There's no end to the renaming, although it's a trend among Xiaomi and sub-brands, which is to our benefit. Now the Chinese Redmi K40 Gamer Enhanced Edition is heading to India under the name Poco F3 GT.

Kacper Skrzypek is a Polish Xiaomi enthusiast who compiles, tests and crafts code for xiaomi.eu ruins. In the new developer MIUI rom he discovered a code snippet of a new phone, called Poco F3 GT.

Poco F3 GT

The interesting thing is that the model number of this phone (M2104K10I) is exactly the same as the Chinese Redmi K40 Gamer Enhanced Edition. So it's clearly the Indian version of the Redmi K40, which might also be European.

The Redmi K40 series has made incredible progress, slowly reaching the top end of the market, if not already entering it and becoming a rival not only to Xiaomi, but also to Black Shark. True, the regular Redmi K40 is not powered by the beefiest Snapdragon processor, but by the MediaTek Dimensity 1.100, which brings it roughly up to last year's Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 level, at a much cheaper price. A Redmi K40 Gamer Enhanced Edition launched yesterday and the MediaTek Simensity 1.200 chipset, which rivals the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

Interesting things, competing for customers in-house...

I don't think there's any problem with renaming, they're not stupid to tease the fans. It's definitely a thoughtful strategy to not market the Redmi K40 Gamer Enhanced Edition under that name outside of China. Even in our country, only the Redmi Note series is currently running, everything else is cheap Redmi, Poco.
