MIUI 13 is a topic of interest to many, especially since MIUI 12.5 hasn't even arrived in Europe yet. In China, it is already being tested in alpha phase, which will be followed by beta phase and then stable. But when?

First, let's clean up the MIUI versions, as the colleague did with the version codes. MIUI is being tested in closed alpha for the first time, in a staff-only environment. From there, it will be released in public alpha, ready to be tested by users. These users are old and trusted MIUI users, privileged. If it performs well here, it will be ready for closed beta testing, for which MIUI users from around the world will be recruited.

This is where the work really starts, because the closed beta state is already a stable system that should hold up in everyday life. Recruited users provide ongoing feedback to the developers and once all bugs that don't interfere with everyday use have been fixed, the public beta ROM is ready to go.

A stable MIUI

All this is happening exclusively in China, because that's the only place left for the beta line. But the stable system is used worldwide, you'll find it on every new phone you buy. The public beta system also gives MIUI developers a perfect feedback loop, so they polish the interface, options and features. Once everything is fine, safe and working properly, the beta will be turned into a stable system.

The Stable MIUI does not inherit all the features from the beta system, it does not rename the beta running on the day of release, but draws components from previous, multiple releases. In a subsequent release, they update the features tested in the beta and add them for the enjoyment of stable branch followers.

The global stable version of MIUI is made from this Chinese stable ruin, weeding out China specific elements, and of course some that are not compliant with EU GDPR regulations, like the MIUI dialer, MIUI Phonebook, etc. So in our country we get a dumbed down vestige, which in my personal opinion does not reflect the benefits of Xiaomi and MIUI!

MIUI 13

Back to MIUI 13! MIUI 12 is now available for all devices that were already on the official list. The next version, MIUI 12.5, is quite a big leap from the base concept, although it makes no sense as MIUI 13 will include the same. In part...

The global stable version of MIUI 12.5 hasn't even been launched yet, and today only the beta version is being tested. There's no point in arguing or getting angry about this, but if you read up on it, you'll see uploads the xiaomi.eu rom and a good day.

The MIUI 13 China beta and MIUI 12.5 Global stable will arrive at roughly the same time on both continents. Official information has also confirmed that both will be released in the second quarter of 2021, between April - June. But you already know that once the global update starts, you can read about it here. Almost nothing is known about MIUI 13 yet, max the release date, which Xiaomi hasn't confirmed yet.

According to leaks, it will be released in China with a beta update on Friday 25 June 2021. Long-time bikers already know that a closed beta will be leaked before the public release, which will be covered by, for example, xiaomi.eu. For those who get the MIUI 12.5 stable update, you will definitely be able to upgrade to MIUI 13! We will only go for sure when Xiaomi officially announces it! Until then, treat it with caution!
