Xiaomi seems to have neglected the tablet line recently. Not so long ago, Xiaomi CEO answered a question at a live conference that Xiaomi tablet is coming this year!

Mi Pad 4

The last Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Launched in June 2018, the line has been dead since then. Lei jun My answer has kept me going ever since, because I have one of the Xiaomi tablet series, which is still serving me well today, even though it's 6 years old. Reading the news this morning, my eyes lit up at the Article on XDA, in which I finally read about the Xiaomi tablet coming this year.

The latest Xiaomi apps like MIUI Home alpha have found their way onto the upcoming tablets. Yes, plural, because there are three more coming in 2021! The trio of devices codenamed nabu, enuma and elish were stumbled upon in the alpha of the new home screen, the internally tested version. These names have feature references such as "isPad", referring to the tablet-like display of MIUI apps.

Based on the new features found in the MIUI Home alpha, it's safe to say that the new features are for setting up tablet-like layouts.

The code also revealed more information about the new tablets, the enuma and elish will be a family, their model names ending in K81 and K81A. The model name nabu ending in K82 could be a more advanced 4/5G capable tablet.

Hardware

The hardware architecture is only a guess at the moment, although the source files have revealed the screen ratio to be 16:10 and the resolution to be 2560 × 1600 pixels. The nabu, the 4/5G capable tablet, could come with a 10.97″ screen size measuring 236 mm x 148 mm. There are also only hints about the battery, which could be up to 8,720 mAh.

The previous tablets received mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, this year's tablets will apparently get 8-series processors. This isn't as popular these days, only Samsung tablet computers with the SD855 chipset. Xiaomi tablets (enuma and elish) will feature one of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865, 865+ or 870. The nabu, the largest, will have one of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855, 855+ or 860.

We hope to get official information about the new Xiaomi tablets soon, they could be worthy rivals to the iPad and Galaxy Tab, which are currently dominating the market.
