The Xiaomi 14 and HyperOS have become a good combo in Xiaomi's lineup, becoming the best-selling phone of all time within 5 minutes of going on sale. No wonder, it promised a lot and everyone wanted it. But then, by the law of large numbers, negative reviews have multiplied since then. Software and hardware problems keep coming.

The Xiaomi says, the Xiaomi 14 + HyperOS pair sold 600% more within 5 minutes of going on sale than last year's Xiaomi 13 from the phone. I'm not surprised, it's got a bigger reputation than the previous one, not to mention a few unique and original solutions.

But it wasn't just the phones that did well, other Xiaomi products also did well in the 11.11 promotion series that has already started. Across all channels, the total value of Xiaomi products sold in this promotion exceeded 10 billion yuan! In HUF terms, you won't believe it, more than 486 billion HUF! That's no small amount. The total came to 13.1 billion, which is 637 billion HUF. That's about 1.000.000 Xiaomi 14 and Pro sold!

Problems

That's all well and good, and we're glad the company is doing so well. But how is the response to Xiaomi 14? Well, it was very mixed. Many are happy and satisfied, but not everyone. Somehow it feels like the first wave of the Xiaomi Mi 11. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 as it turned out, didn't turn out very well, the cooling was under-designed and the heating couldn't be dampened properly in software.

The first thing you read on foreign blogs, or mostly on Weibo, is the warming. The reasons for this could be several things, software, hardware. HyperOS still has some work to do, it's already Xiaomi CEO he replied to one of the warming complaints. So they know about it and they think it's just a software problem and they've fixed it. We'll see. The next one is excessive heat dissipation from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which the coolant can't handle properly. Interestingly, at the presentation they really highlighted that the Xiaomi 14 series got a new and efficient cooling, they even threw numbers around. So we can only hope that it is indeed a software problem and that the iron is fine.

Hardware

The next complaint is specifically about the Xiaomi 14 Pro. More specifically its edges, especially around the camera island. According to the juzer, it is so sharp and angular that it almost cuts your hand. It's uncomfortable to hold the phone. Others in the comments had a similar opinion, with Xiaomi's unique rounded screen being a world first, but it didn't manage to fit into the frame either.

It's only a minor annoyance for the user, but it's something you have to live with on a daily basis, unless Xiaomi is just a series of busted products. Did it take too much too fast to get the first poster? Well, it still doesn't end there.

They also made a big deal at the launch by making the screen bezel extra thin on the sides and top, only the bottom is slightly thicker. Well, the reality is that the top and the right side did it, and the bottom and the left side were thicker! Look at the picture above! Now I don't know whether to cry or laugh? But there's more below...

In this picture, you would see that the metal frame has been left in line, but it hasn't. You can see the melted glue between the screen and the housing due to overheating. Well, um...

Software

Coming back a bit, there are still software problems, the camera is not as good as we heard from the artists and the presentation. Unfortunately, we don't know what software went out for the tests, but in the pieces sold, it's not very good, e.g. the portrait algorithm. Others have reported to Xiaomi that on HyperOS, apps previously used on MIUI either don't launch at all or FC (Force Close) while in use. So there really is a lot to tweak on this new operating system. But it's always been like this, no matter if Android, HyperOS or iOS. It can't be perfect the first time...

Catering

These are no longer user problems, but company problems. The 1 million units sold sounds very good, except that there are no more. Not the regular, not the Pro, not even the titanium version. And the demand is only growing and they can't serve the fans. This has been Xiaomi CEO also "confessed" in a post on Weibo, which is a bit surprising compared to Eastern customs. It was also noted that the boss was quite animated in his replies during the posts. This is a good sign.

Well. To sum up, if you look at these few problems, there will be things to improve in the next series, and you can't go out to the global market with these. If they perfect the manufacturing and get the software right, we will have a fully developed Xiaomi 14 series that meets all our needs! Let's hope...
