India is now a bastion of global development and trade, with Xiaomi not only pouring billions into the country, but also building factories, creating jobs and livelihoods. The process of catching up has accelerated so much that some of the development steps will come from there in the future.
Mi Pay
Mi Pay is Xiaomi's biggest achievement on the financial front. It is very similar to PayPal's solution and can handle almost everything. Debit card, credit card, online banking interface, instant money sending and requesting, payment in shops, restaurants, anywhere, bill payments with reminders, and much more.
Google Lens
Google Lens, formerly known as Google Goggles. Google Lens can recognise almost anything it sees, with the help of Google's artificial intelligence. Objects, creatures, buildings, places, text, images, anything, and it can give you all the information you need to know more about it.
With intelligent object recognition you can search for almost anything, if you want to buy a book for example, just show it and it will list the shops where you can buy it, the same with furniture or anything else. Scanning and translating texts is nothing new, scanning business cards between contacts, scanning addresses from envelopes, recognising books, scanning CD, game or movie covers is just icing on the cake.
Recognizing buildings, squares, streets is a bit more difficult, but it is not difficult for the algorithm either, it immediately tells us e.g. the building's features, its construction, its designer and architect, everything we need to know about it. What's more! If you go to a museum, it will recognise and tell you about every work of art you see there, whether it is a painting or a sculpture.
Google Lens will soon be integrated into the MIUI 10 Beta Camera app and will be available for limited devices in the India region. In the camera, just bring up the menu and tap the Google Lens button.
Google Lens will be available in the Poco F1, Redmi Note 7 series, and Redmi Y2. We hope other phones will get it soon, it would be a very useful feature in MIUI! Waiting!
