Civi, the China-exclusive Xiaomi phone aimed at young people, launched last autumn, has received an update to Android 12-based MIUI 13.

For some phones, Xiaomi has decided to release the new MIUI interface based on Android 11, but for the most part, it's fair to say that they're already packing the recently introduced MIUI 13 on top of the new Android major version.

The new software for the phone is build number V13.0.2.0.SKVCNXM. The update brings the following new features:

As in iOS 14, it supports dynamic widgets. Liquid Storage technology reduces storage fragmentation (up to 60% improvement) and actively manages stored data.

And the atomized memory feature increases the efficiency of RAM usage.

It dynamically manages system resources so that the processor can focus on the important tasks, guaranteeing smoothness.

Smart Balance brings an innovation in energy use, with the possibility to choose between energy saving and performance. You can gain up to 10% of uptime.

What phone is this Civi?

The Xiaomi Civi is a mid-range phone that the company has targeted at young people. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, with a choice of 8 or 12 GB LPDDR4X memory and 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The front panel features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution, HDR10+, Dolby Vision support. The front-facing camera is 32 megapixels, while the back features a 64 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel super wide-angle camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera.

It has a 4500 mAh battery that supports 55 W fast charging, but no charger is included by default. It supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6 and has NFC. Dolby Vision isn't everything, as the sound system is a Dolby Atmos stereo sound system.

So you can see that this is a phone with good capabilities.

The Xiaomi Civi was released last September with Android 11 based MIUI 12.5. MIUI 12.5 EE has already received an update, so this will be the second MIUI update and the first major version update.
